Heritage Victoria was very pleased to receive a new resource on Victoria’s rail history titled 'The Victorian Railways: A Thematic History (GJM Heritage, Feb 2024)'.
The document was prepared by GJM Heritage at the request of the Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) and came together after consultation with rail related stakeholders including Department of Transport and Planning, VicTrack, VLine, the Australian Rail Track Corporation, the Suburban Rail Loop Authority, and Rail Projects Victoria as well as Heritage Victoria.
It provides a fabulous resource for anyone interested in better understanding the heritage value of railway related places and objects in Victoria. It will be of interest to a broad range of people, whether you are a professional heritage consultant or someone interested in the history of Victoria’s railways.
