1 April 2025
Amendments to the Heritage Regulations 2017 have been approved by the Governor in Council and come into force on 1 April 2025.
These amendments respond to internal and external feedback to ensure effective administration of the Heritage Act 2017, and comprise the following:
- Three new upper tiers of permit application fees which only apply to permits with estimated cost of works greater than $50 million for cost recovery purposes;
- 12 new infringement penalties for existing offences to improve efficiency of compliance;
- Amendments to eight existing prescribed forms to make them more effective for online use and respond to stakeholder feedback; and
- Other small general amendments.
